Is the viper rear end a dana?, if so, is it a "44" or a "60"?

The Viper Dana60 is only for the GTS/R Race cars. Can be installed in a street Viper though...

If memory serves, it was originally a Dana44, and at some point they switched to the Super 44. Does anyone know which year that occurred?

Do any of the parts from a truck "44" fit? I got lotsa those!!!!!

The Gen 1's were the standard 44, the Gen 2's are the super 44's. The main diff is the size of the pinion gear/shaft.

Isn't the difference the bolts holding the main gear...?

Just had my diff re built ordered dana 44 rebuild kit and it was all wrong barings to small pinion diameter to small etc etc took it all back and orderd super 44 and all fitted fine ,and still going strong so far.........
