Hi Folks, Lots of things happening all over the region & I need your help. The ALMS Race @ Road Atlanta is the same weekend as the Grand American cup @ Mid Ohio. If our new SRT4 survives next weeks Watkins Glen 3 hour, Dr. Jimmy & I will not be able to attend the ALMS race. There are a number of Vipers that will be participating @ Road Atlanta over that weekend. Tom Wiekart in the ALMS Vipers have found some speed with a testing lap @ Road Atlanta this week @ 1:20, That is a 4 second improvement over last years Petit Lemans & is as fast as the corvettes. In the exciting Speedvision GT series , Local club member David Barr will debut his new COMP COUPE that weekend. Dave is based out of Duluth & has Alex Job veteran Robin Hayes preparing the car. Also Mike hartley, A new jersey VCA member will be bringing his GTS & Comp Coupe to the battle. We want to give these guys as much support as possible. I need someone to step forward & organize a caravan or corral. We had a poor turnout for the October race, so I dont want to spend the money if no one is going to show up. By the way, Corvette is the new official pace car @ Road Atlanta & you can be sure they will be out in force! We cant let that happen!

Many thanks to Dave Garret & Ryan Rouleau for filling for Dr Jimmy & Myself over the last 2 meetings. We have had a demanding Racing schedual that unfortunately had us out of town for the last 2 monthly meetings. I also had a death in the family that kept me away from Road atlanta & the Mopar Nats last month. I will make up the instruction time @ Road Atlanta to those that requested it @ our next track event.

Thank you everyone on the support for our Grand American SRT 4 effort especially the guys @ Ringold Dodge. Mike Robbins & crew are 1st class & are a great friend to our club. It is in your interest to patronize this fine establishment. We had our first race @ the Barber track in that car last month & although we had some problems, we did finish the race 13th in class. The pundits said we would never finish in what is basically a stock car. Not only did we make it to the end, but our lap times were eventually within .8 seconds of last years champion BMW. The torrential rain helped us & cursed us @ the same time. I have put some of our race notes @ the end of this email. We have the ltd slip & more HP for the Watkins glen race. So watch for the F&F on Speed TV soon. I have attached a photo to this post & it is Nortons Anti Virus scanned.
Pete

If I missed something let me know & I will have Donnie Wishard post it on our site http://www.gaviperclub.org/codebase/index.asp

I will be there! Unless we get a good response to this post, say 10 Vipers attending the ALMS event, no need for a Corral as you said.

I was very slow, not I am only slow. This track stuff gets expensive.

Achilles and I are planning on being at the ALMS event, all day Sunday (so that will include the Speed GT race, I think). But I agree with Tom, maybe the corral isn't necessary unless we get more people who will FOR SURE be there.
Tom we can talk later if you want to hook up at the ALMS thing.
