The same thing happened to me several weeks ago and I felt the same frustration and anger. I posted a message similar to yours and received some very good advise from JonB at PartsRack and also VCA member Matt Kovac on this board.

I too was loaded for bear when I met with the adjuster. However, he recognized that a Viper is not a grocery getter and provided $$ for completely new parts and a top quality paint job.

If I can help, email me.

One final note: The female who hit my car explained that she didn't see it. My son, upon hearing her remark, said, "Dad, Ray Charles could see that car!"

Well I hope someone out there can give me some advice on my recent fender bender. I was leaving the mall yesterday when a brand new honda civic hits me from the rear while I was stopped at a stop sign. I couldn't believe this lady could be so careless (I think she was gabbing away on a cell phone GRRRRR!!!!!!). I recieved damage on my bumper is pretty minor (just a few bad scratches) and it also appear as if I got a nasty scratch on my front bumper as well since she push me into a curb. When I talked with her insurance company (Farmer Insurance) the agent was not sure if they would completly replace the part!?!? I realize this is a scratch, but I would like the bumper piece and front fisca replaced BRAND NEW the way it was before the hit (isn't that fair??). I don't want a crappy 200 dollar repaint job (I am sure someone out there knows how I feel), but I would be willing to bet the insurance company would love to give me one. I would like to get both parts replaced and with the original factory paint. Does anybody out there have any advice on how I should go about this?? I am suppose to have an agent come out to my house on Monday to take a look at the damage and I am afraid the agent will not allow me to get the parts replaced since the damage is not that bad. So I do something deviant and make the damage worse?? or can I demand that the parts be replaced by a Dodge dealer?? Should I be entitled to have the car in the same mint condition as it was before the accident. Even though my car is a 95, I still keep that car in the same new condition. Hopefully someone can give me some advice so I can get some sleep.

Thanks.
