I don't think I have ever met any Viper owners that were complete pricks like this guy in Detroit. I have been looking to buy a used 96 blue/white stripe GTS or a 99 solid black ACR. Well I was looking on cars.com and found this “nice” 96 blue/white stripe with 6.5K miles for 49.5K obo. The guy lives in Detroit and here is his classified ad ...

I gave him a call and here is how the conversation played out...
**** : Hello
Me: Hi I was calling about your 96 GTS.
**** : Yea, what do you want to know.
Me: Can you please tell me what the VIN number is on the car?
**** : I ain't gonna give the **** VIN out to a stranger.
Me: Uhhh.. ok...
**** : What the hell are you going to do with the VIN?
Me: Well I would like to run a Carfax and look at the history.
**** : I am the second owner and I bought it with 1900 miles that is the **** history.
Me: O.K. Well if I was do buy the car I would need to VIN number to check the car out, I don't want to fly out and see the car without the VIN. I have the cash and I am a serious buyer.
**** : Oh Jesus...
Me: Well how is the interior?
**** : Great.
Me: Do the rims have any scratchs?
**** : Forget it (or maybe he said **ck it) .... (hang up).
Me:
WOW the guy hung up on me!?!?! I haven’t had someone hang up on me since that one girl I dated back in High School.
What the heck did I do wrong? Is the VIN number "personal" information? In case this guy didn't know you can walk up to any Viper and see the VIN number through the windshield. That guy was the biggest Viper owning **** I have ever spoke with and I didn't even get to haggle on the price (I thought the price was pretty good as it was really). Does anyone in Detroit know this guy by any chance?? He must really not want to sell his car, or maybe his wife made him put it in the paper, or maybe he had a bummer day. I would recommend to anyone buying a Viper make sure you use Carfax, you wouldn't believe some of the crap Vipers people are trying to pass off. Buyer beware.
