Although they don't make a "SRT specific" filter, Kingman has tested some available cones on our SRT's. Bottom line? As far as HP.... from what I remember .... no gain.

PVO has given us a tremendous amount of airflow on the stock box. GOBS of air is available to the intake.

I dynoed mine with and without filters in back to back runs. I saw a small (couple of ft-lbs) of torque increase in the low to mid rpm band. Little to no change at high rpms. I only did one test so the difference would be within experimental error. Possibly a unit that would replace the complete resonator/filter assembly could provide improvement. If so I would want it to stll fit in the stock air-box.

One thing I have noticed is the stock resonator assembly necks down the intake passages just before the filters. Looks like it was for strength. That, in addition to the resonator itself, looks like an area for improvement.

Guess we need some tuner development in this area.

Check the internet for the best price. I ordered them from Martel in Katy TX and paid about $30 each including shipping. RC-5000 is the product number I bought.

Are those real K&N's or are they some ricer add on? Also, does anyone know how to safely remove the water baffle on the hood? Looks like a 'clip-in' but I'm afraid of breaking it if I hit it the wrong way. There's no visible screws or other fasteners. I just hope it wasn't glued in.

Viperfreak2 the screws for the water baffle are there, they are running parallel to the hood, on the top side of the baffle. Use a slightly longer than normal screwdriver, and not a very big tip. The srewdriver will be pointed towards the front of the car. Three screws total. As for air filters, I do not like the idea of the undersized K&N filter. I'm sure someone will come out with a proper fitting full size filter, and I don't care who makes it, just how hard is it to make a high flowing air filter? Who cares if it doesn't filter quite as good as K&N. With the low mileage and frequent oil changing done on the Viper, it's nothing to worry about. You have to remember one thing about most air filters, they are made for extremely high mileage usage, with low maintenance, in those cases I would want the best filter made. I want air flow, and lots of it, give us less filtration and more air. Oil treated foam is the best out there I hope Amsoil will come out with one. As for the resonators in the air system, I really would like to check this out. Sometimes the sound factor from modifing this is very acceptable.
