I have never had a key fob for my 94 viper, the dealersjip that I purchased the car from said that the past owner did not have one. First question - where do I get one and the second question - does a dealership have to program it or can I do it myself. I am getting a little nervous after ready the posts about the problems with the alarm system when the battery goes down.

I picked one up at my local dealer. I didn't get one with the car either, and after accidentally setting my alarm a few weeks ago,( by disconnecting the battery) I figured it was time to get one. I believe the cost is around $70.

Did the same dealer program it or did you have to take it to a Viper Tech? I am sure that I will buy one from the wizard but I will need someone to program it.

I reprogrammed it myself. Just remove the lower knee bolster (4 screws), ground the green wire with the black end cap that hangs down by itself on the right of the steering column (you can't miss it)and hold the buttons in on the key fob. Just take a piece of wire, strip both ends, put one end in the black connector on the green wire and ground the other end. I just held the other end to the bolt on the door hinge. The whole reprogram took me about 5 minutes.
