My ignition key won't turn in either direction in the cylinder on the driver's door. Would a little WD-40 and some patience do the trick? Or does the door panel have to come off to see what's up?

Thanks,

Mike

A lot of times you will find that the tension on the door will cause the key to be a little more difficult to turn. Try pushing in on the door a little as you turn the key and that should free it up a bit. Failing that, then it may indeed be stuck. Does it work okay on the trunk?

Yes to the WD-40...but, as Chris said, pressure on the rear of the door latch(right hip) is necessary...while both turning the key(left hand) AND pushing down on door latch(right hand).

:) Hi guys...thanks to all for the tips.

Special thanks to Jon B...you were right...it just took some additional torque and the door popped right open. I was a bit hesitant to put that much pressure on it. It works fine once you know how it is supposed to "feel".

Thanks again...nice to know you are all out there ready to help a fellow VCA'er!!
