I will be visiting the Lamborghini Factory in Italy next month. Has anyone here done this? If so I would be interesting in hearing about your experiences. By the way, I intend to take with me photographs of my '94 RT/10 in hopes of generating interesting performance conversations with the Lambo folks.

lambos are nice. They are slower than a viper off the starting block, feels like it wants to stall. But then once you're moving, it really takes off.
When I take my foot off the gas after accelerating hard, the beast will still go an extra 10 mph beyond, even if I'm standing on the brakes... beware!

I've gone 190mph with that one (the car) :)

You're lucky--I was in Italy in '89, and both the Lamborghini and Ferrari factories were closed to visitors because they were deep into developing the Lamborghini and F40, respectively. I did, however, take a fairly extensive visit of the Maserati factory, which was really neat.
Last year, my lead technician and I were flown over to the Qvale factory in Modena to install Vortech superchargers on a couple of their Mangustas for durability testing. Talk about impressive! You never realize how much money and know-how goes into building a first-class car production operation until you see it in person. Too bad the Mangustas weren't successful. (They could have done a bit better job in the styling department...) The factory was recently purchased by MG to start making their line of small sports cars.
Have fun at Lamborghini! The town is beautiful. Stop by Modena, too, to check out Ferrari!

Thanks for all of the advice guys. I am really looking forward to the trip. I have already arranged to meet someone at the factory so I believe everything will go well. I just wish I could take my car.

But Enzo was a disgruntled employee of Alfa Romeo...

Makara, absolutely right. But the difference is that they left on good terms. But Alfa after Enzo left was short lived. So this showed the strength he took with him. To each his own though....I prefer Ferrari to Lambo...

Nice!!!!! I have been twice. Its really awesome! Be sure to call before and schedule a visit. Also tell them you came all the way from the USA. Never hurts to show interest in purchasing one. Really an impressive facility. Be sure you know where you are going. The first time I attempted to go I was 13, my dad and I ended up at the Lamborghini tractor factory. Well, we still joke about that one. Enjoy!

Since Lambo is a ripoff of Ferrari (a disgruntled employee of former Enzo Ferrari) I really don't care much for them. They are not as everyone thinks. I have driven my friends SVT and I has not impressed at all for that amount of $. I drove the Bugatti EB 110 and it was a much more stable car than the Lambo. I do not like the instrument cluster that blocks 1/2 of the visibility of the road infront of you either. The design is like a Porsche...same thing, different day...they are all the same with minor mods to them. Now the LM-2 is a cool Lambo vehicle, also their tractors.

To answer your question, go where ther is some race history...the Ferrari factory in Mugello. I have also seen the McLaren F-1 factory photos and that looks like a neat place to visit. The entire place is an OR...spotless. Enjoy the food though in Italy. I'll be back there in Jan.

It's not to insult anyone...that is why there are many different types of cars out there. At least we agree on one thing, we love our Vipers.....

Thanks Need4Speed....
