I currently have Eibach lowering springs and I don't like the ride. I drive mostly on the street with an occasional track day. I talked with Mark Jorgensen about the new MCS shocks and I understand he has recently sold many sets. I am looking reviews from MCS buyers... What do you think? Was it worth the $3,000? Thanks, Doug

I've got a set on my gen 3 and have been pretty happy with them. Car feels more planted then before, but it's still a little on the harsher side for some bumps. It soaks up a lot of the smaller stuff really well, but there are a few spots on the way to work that will still wake you up if you're not anticipating them. Haven't played with the settings too much though. Cranked them way down once and ended up with a worse ride. I think it's because it's too little damping to handle the stiffer spring rates and Mark has agreed some regarding that. Have since gone back to the suggested settings and noticed an improvement. Haven't tried any other ones on the market though, so I can't really compare against much.

They seem like a pretty good value to me since you're getting a nice performance shock with good factory support, but if you're just after looks some of the others might not be so bad. There's another car in one of the driving clubs I'm in that has the Vipair setup and has been pretty happy with it. I plan to track my car eventually one of these days though, so I just considered it a bit of an investment, not to mention the adjustments can really change the experience quite noticeably. Kind of like getting several different shocks in one.

For my 09 I traded up from a set of KW Variant II's (pogo ride) to the MCS and found much improvement. Smoother ride, quieter (no click), better control. Feels like you are using more of the shock travel. No more bound up feeiing.

Believe for most Viper Owners it is the best shock on the market.

If those things dropped 2k in price I would be jumping all over them. Can't say I have ever read a bad thing about them, they are what I want for my car.

I went from Eibach's to the MCS Singles. I've noticed the most improvment on small dips/bumps in the road as MoparMap stated. I'd say a must if you plan to occasionally track the car. I have mine more for a proper set-up but run it pretty low and have a 20/20 set-up it's excpected to still be a bit rough.

FWIW the single non remotes did lower the price of admission into MCS quality (and ride) by $1800 over the double adjustable remote mount shocks that were all they used to offer for the Viper :) If they lowered the price any further I'm afraid they would be selling Aldan's re badged as MCS... I think that anyone that could ride in a MCS equipped Viper would feel the advantage between them and any other shock, (stock $3800 without springs) or other aftermarket offerings out there, and would agree they are a bargain for the singles or the doubles for enjoyment of the Viper on the street or the track. I only offer the MCS because I believe that to be true and the best option out there. Does it cost me potential sales by not offering others, possibly, but everyone is happy because of it I hope.

Just a note, for people watching their budgets, there is a market for used oem and aftermarket shocks. You can often sell your good condition take off shocks to recover some of the cost to put on a MCS upgrade.

Oh, I didn't realize they offered another set up now. Are the doubles much better for comfort than the singles?

With you being part of such a big Viper dealer, can't you and Bill convince Ralph to make the MCS shocks the factory standard at least on the ACR?? From the reviews, I can't see the downside to doing it.

Its funny, what does just about every track rat viper run? Moton/MCS. I don't see why its not standard on the next ACR. When you have the vipers in the VRL, all these ACRs and ACR-X, Comp Coupes swapping out to them, it's gotta mean something..

The singles will actually have a slightly better ride because the shaft diameter is a little smaller, allowing fluid by pass on sharp impacts to be faster.

The old Moton triples were spec'ed out for the Comp Coupes back in the day, but I would think that the contract Mopar has with KW for their aftermarket shock offerings is why the KW's are on the ACR. Getting MCS in the door has been a goal of mine and believe me I have tried, unfortunately there are contracts out there I'm sure. I would love for Erich to try an MCS set up and have offered to supply him with some, but he is very busy and couldn't probably for other reasons anyway.

Well don't give up. I'd love to see the next ACR with the OS Giken LSD and MCS. Those two might shave a second or more off the Laguna Seca time...

Price to Chrysler was the driver, ask Lou Bellanger what he would have lost putting his headers on the ACR-X. Same story for KW vs. Moton
