Which is the better MGW shift knob, the "Gripper" or the "First Strike"?

George is the man! Either one is great, the Gripper is more cosmetically engineered, the First Strike was designed to add some extra "grab" to anyone in serious motorsports. .... Right George?

thanks joe that is basically it in a nutshell. here are the details...

the 2 knobs are much shorter than stock but do have some unique design objectives.

GRIPPER- this is our shortest throw knob we make. it is highly recommended if you do not plan on adding an aftermarket shifter mechanism and want the shortest throw on a stock car. it is round in shape to mimick the factory 99-present knobs but does have a tapered stem to allow side handed shifting also.


FIRST STRIKE- this knob was designed in response to the viper guys/gals that race their vipers and found the aftermarket shifters take so much leverage away from the shifter that a really short throw knob like the gripper may be overkill. this knob is slightly taller than the gripper but the main difference is how much is ABOVE the leather boot. it sits higher over the boot to allow your full side grip pistol shift technique. its shape is derived from the original shifters in the 92-98 cars.
also the first strike is a better heat insulator as it is almost all composite.

Just installed my First Strike shifter knob last night, along with George's satin finish AC/heater control knobs. I've got the satin 6 speed insignia on mine... looks great!
