I went to a cruise in and like always I put my radar detector in my glovebox. Well, when I went to put the key in the lock the lock was missing... only a hole where there once was a lock... Strange... Tomorrow I will take the glove box door apart and see if it fell inside, but it is not anywhere I could see. Any one have this happen? Did someone take it at a car show to have keys made? I'm at a loss... Just wondering if anyone has had this trouble? Do they fall out easily? :dunno:

They are really easy to remove if the door can be opened. If I remember right, it removes to the outside after a clip has been pulled off the inner barrel. Look around under your seats ... if you don't find it, better start asking around to see if anyone saw someone in your car.:nono:

Both my wife and I checked under the seat. I even used a magnet. Nothing. I took the glovebox apart--nothing inside.

I have to believe that it was stolen at a car show. I suppose they would make a key out of it and try to steal the car. That's the only conclusion I can come up with. What bothers me is they also had access to my registration and insurance card.

I guess I order a new glove box lock and some blank keys and have everything re-keyed. What a pain in the ass!!! Any other ideas?
