I was always the computer guy growing up and my bro was the gear head.

We've always both liked cars, but I was always interested in the new and exotic, and the factory 0-60 and hp ratings while he liked muscle cars from the 60s. Needless to say I never really learned too much about modifing my rides.

I got tubes, filters, the clutch pedal adjustment and MGW first strike today.

I ran outside with the tools to get greasy and dirty (well, as greasy and dirty as one can get with minor bolt ons like that) as if I was 14 and Pamela Andersen was spread eagle on the lawn...

So anyway, I got those 4 items. I'm thinking AL flywheel and Corsa next, then radio, then headers and cruise control.

Any other suggestions after that? The money will run out before the options do...

How about a new rear gear say a 3.55 Ratio Ring and Pinion Gear
Our #1 bang-for-buck performance upgrade! Hardended, Cryogenically treated, and micropolished for less friction, heat, and low gear whine. Adding a lower gear ratio feels like adding about 60 horsepower. 6th gear finally becomes useful, and 5th is your best friend with this quality ring and pinion from Parts Rack. Comes with a speedo calibration kit.
Price: $589.00....From Partsrack.com of course!!

Give Jon B a call at 360-837-3937 he'll answer all your questions.

Forget the cruise control. I don't think you'll be able to fight back the urge to break out of a steady pace. Spend the money on stuff that makes it go faster.

Cruise control??? Please tell me you're kidding. If not, then whisper things like that. Other features (annoyances) that should not be mentioned are cup holders, luggage racks and bras.

Enjoy that ride and lets see pics.

Recommended mods in order

1. Tubes & filters - you already have them
2. Cat back - for sound only not for HP
3. high flow cats - cooler side sills and more HP
4. Headers - most HP to be gained from these
5. Gears - no experience with these and nobody has shown they are any faster in the 1/4 then stock gears, so don't know.
6. AL flywheel ONLY when you need a new clutch - over rated, just installed one and it's OK but glad I also needed a new clutch.

Yeah, I know it's kind of girly (which is why it's last on the list) but I drive 3 hours (long, boring highway) each way once a month, every month to see the family and I have driven/will be driving the Viper and I have a not-so-squeaky-clean driving record. Trying to keep out of trouble. As far as the other stuff, there will be no luggage rack or bra, and as far as cupholders go, what do you call the netting above the glove box? I call it "cupholder"

Though MCMM does bring up a good point. It's hard not to modulate the gas.

As far as pics, check Off Topic, "Just HOW tall is 2TALL?" Got 6 pics in there.

Not to be contrarian (yeah, right), but I don't think gears are a good mod. Spend your money where they'll make some difference in comfort, appeal or performance. Gears do none of those, the only guys who really benefit those spending their days trying to shave tenths on the 1320.

I agree. 2Tall has a three hour drive once a month. Save rpms and wear on the engine.

2tall, glad to see you finally got the snake... did the Canton police force you over to Farmington Hills

Anyway, my GTS is fairly well modified with all the usuals and then some. Drop me a line, and you can stop over and take a look. I have an aluminum flywheel as well, but that would not be my next choice for where your at on your car now.

Tubes, Filters,
Cat Back and rear gears (if you not going to seriously modify it) and then if your not satisfied with the performance yet, opt for the Belanger headers... Other than that, you'll have to go inside for some more gains like N/A, Supercharged, NO2.. So many to choose from!

WARNING:
if you do modify your snake, you'll want more, and more.. and more... so do yourself a favor and keep it STOCK!

Interesting post, Jason, but is that correct, as the rear end is different in the 2001-2002s , compared to earlier years? Just wondering , as that sounds like a good deal. Everything we have seen so far, shows different prices for the newer ones.

Thanks!
