Anybody in SOCAL have this system on their SRT? I would love to have a listen before spending the $550 (non-refundable).

Thanks

I will be able to answer you question in a week or so. I got an ebay deal of the year 3 days ago. A guy was selling what her reported to be a stock 04 Exhaust system including cats, headers, heat shields, and the exhaust itself.

In looking at the pics on the auction site, I noticed a couple of things right off of the bat. First there was no crossover pipe. Next thing was the tailpipes had chrome ends on them. I spoke with the seller and had him send me some more pics. Just as I had thought. It indeed was a MOPAR performance exhaust complete with Borla mufflers.

Best part about it is that I paid 245.00 for everything. I plan on gutting the secondary cats and putting on the exhaust. I will advise on ease of installation. Should be fun as I have no instructions.

Stay Tuned.

I went with the $550.00 Mopar system Roe sells. I had the system MIG welded on to avoid slippage. Absolutely no regrets so far.

I live in a rural area and had no opportunity to hear any exhaust systems before I bought so I figured if I'm buying site-unseen, I'd rather be out $550.00 vs. $1400.00 that the "other" system costs.

For those wondering what it sound like - it kind of sound like this:

VROOOOOM,VROOOOOM,VROOOOOM!!!! :2tu:

Ted, curious if have you've heard the Corsa track system? It offers a fairly loud aggressive sound with a bit of deceleration pop but best of all minimum in-cabin resonance boom and cool sills - on the downside it's rather pricey. No matter the choice, it's not too hard to improve upon the sound of the stock system. Good luck.

Its not actually the money, I want the car quiet. I put hi-flow cats plus Corsa on my RT/10 and it was too loud. I ended up having custom 5" diameter by 22" long muffs built to replace the Corsa sill units. Louder than stock, but totally streetable with some good volume at WOT. For the SRT, I think I will go with the Random tech 2.5" hi-flows and either stock muffs and crossover, or something like the Mopar/Borla setup if not too loud. My goals are weight saving plus cooler sills. Power will come later with Paxton.
