Great news, The Muscle car Challenge is a go:
The Muscle Car Challenge (started as the Viper Vette Challenge) will be at the Mc Clellan AFB. This is a great location! The AFB was closed then sold and recently reopened.
Lodging is available on site at the Lionsgate Hotel, web http://www.lionsgatehotel.com/
From the hotel web site you can get driving directions and sight seeing information. The Arden Mall is a favorite shopping site. The family can enjoy shopping, sight seeing, river rafting or watching the autocross.

Once again, The Corvette Owners Club of Sacramento will be hosting the annual award winning renown American Muscle Car Team Challenge on October 19th & 20th at Mc Clellan Air Park in Sacramento California. This event is limited to 80 competitors that will be competing in a 4 person team. There will be a total of 20 teams comprising of one Corvette, Viper, Cobra, and one other American Muscle Car type, such as a Camaro, Firebird, or Mustang. Other make cars such as an Austin Healy with an American V8 will be considered if approved by the American
Muscle Car Team Challenge Car Classing Committee. The teams will be configured with no more than one SCCA National Champion or equivalent experienced driver.
The weather during this time of year is great usually in the mid 80's. The event will be hosted on a very tire friendly asphalt surface with good grip. The event hotel headquarters is on-site across the street from of event.
The entry fee will be determined and the top ten teams will be awarded a trophy. There will be a Saturday night social with a full course dinner at the awarding winning Banquet faclities located at Mc Clellan Air Park. The awards will be presented at the conclusion of the event early Sunday Afternoon.
Each car will be paxed accordingly. Cars competiting on non-competition compound tires with a tread wear rating of 120 and greater will be paxed separately than cars equipped with a DOT competition special compound tires. Autocross & Road Racing compound DOT tires, and race slicks will be paxed according to their respective SCCA classes. Cobra's will be using the establish pax currently used by the SCCA Sacramento Chapter
Cup Series.
Saturday Morning runs will be a practice session. Saturday afternoon and Sunday Morning competition runs will be combined and scored for your team. The teams will be ranked by the lowest team combined scores. Cone violations are counted as one second.
Previous year competitors will have priority first for entering. If you are interested in entering, please e-mail me with your name, vehicle make, SCCA class if known, and your telephone number.
