My alarm light stays on with ignition on and the fan runs on high

speed. The engine turns over but will not start


Also, the doors lock and can not open from outside

This is for my 97GTS. Forgot to mention that the fuel pump also stays on


The fob works by turning on and off the alarm, but once i turn ignition switch to on the dash light stay red and the above take place

Disconnect the battery for about 20 minutes and hope everything resets? That's what I would do. It won' hurt anything and it may allow the various computer circuits to reset.

Yes. I replaced it but no progress


When i turn the ignition key on the alarm arms with the light solid Red and doors lock

Sounds like the PCM will not allow the engine to start. 97's have the vtss disarm switch? If so, I would start there. Also, the rear hatch glass ajar switch may need adjusting. Something is causing the alarm to stay armed. Hope you find the problem.

Check ALL the fuses. Sounds like a fuse has blown. Happened on my RT/10.

All fuses are ok. At what location is the VTSS? on my 97GTS

There are two different locations for the fuses. Under the dash and under the left rear side of the engine compartment. Also, you have the Vec 2, might want to look at it as a possible cause, but sounds like a fuse.
