Is it 479hp or 393hp?

I have 1998 GTS with stock air box modified to have 3" outlets, 3" smooth tubes, 70mm throttle bodies; 1.7 rockers, stock long block, full Belanger exhaust with stock cats with inlets and outlets enlarged to 3" and 3.55 gears. Here is my three runs from last Friday on same brand of dyno (air/fuel ratio was at a steady 13:1):

Interesting, Most of the stock Gen 2s make about 410-420rwhp on a dyno. Here we have a stocker with 480rwhp and a slightly modfied making 430rwhp?

Not enough info to figure out what's happening. Guess the first dyno needs adjusting?

It was the first time on a dyno for me, Im not sure exactly what the figures mean? I think the 479hp was the reading taken at the flywheel and the 383hp at the rear wheel? Does that make sence?

That makes sense. 479 down to 393 would be a 20% driveline loss on the button so that must be what they gave you. Use the 393 number to compare on this site as everyone speaks about numbers "to the wheels" here.

I have not got a clue what my air fuel ratio is, this stuff is rather technical for me :dunno:

On the second of your three charts, the bottom curve is the air/fuel mixture. The scale is on the right so you can see you were running 11:1 to 11.5:1 which means 11 parts air for every one part fuel which is very rich. Here is my A/F curve for comparison (ignore the odd squiggle it was a mistake by the dyno operator):

is that the pcv system dumping back into the smooth tubes ?

It sure looks like it...surely not. The bracket holding that hose looks like something a tuner I have used in the past would use.... Just kidding, I know the tyrap is temporary.....right?

I am afraid you are pulling all the hot air from your engine/radiator/fan into you intakes...

Personally I would ( and have ) ditch those tubes and filters. As others have noted, your pulling in hot air from that location. Stick with the stock intake, K&N filters and smooth tubes. Your AFR is too rich. 13ish seems to be the sweet spot for stock GenII's. You can reflash your PCM with a custom tune based on your dyno sheet. I'd recommend contacting Dan at ViperSpecialty. He can hook you up with an SCT tuner and tune which doesn't require sending in the PCM.

Ok I got the car shipped over here in april this year, the pic shows the current set up and yes that tyrap has always been there since I have owned the car! Now I know theres a whole load of stuff you can do to these cars, but I will tred very slowly as there are not many Viper tecs in the UK!! I would love a supercharger but its just not going to happen as I dont have that kind of monies any more :( At the moment im saving up for some new tires but there so expencive! Im just trying to get the best out of the car with what I have available :)

I do like the JMB Preformance air box , But again I will have to save up some cash!

So in the meantime any constructive comments or tips would be most welcome :)
