I just got the o2 sims last week you are asking about and yes it did reduce the surging (car bucking back and forth like a wild horse). The surging I believe only happens without cats, so if you have cats on its not an issue. Before it was quite bad in 1st going 10-20 MPH basically I could not drive at a constant speed. I re-adjusted the throttle bodies which helped a lot then got the o2 sims which then reduced the minimal surging that was left to nothing. I would not have got them except for one of my rear o2 sensors were bad at $90 to replace it I decided to go with the sims. It remains to be seen if it fixes the check engine light because it did come on, then it went off after two short trips, maybe a learning process? I did not check the codes with AutoTap yet so it may not have been the sims.

Same setup ..... light is on constantly. Also surges, runs rich, smells bad, etc. Plan to get the Snakebox from Apex. Hopefully this will be the cure.

Re: My \"idiot\" light went out...what happened?

I have the same Belanger set up---no cats. The system was put on the car at about 9K miles in May of this year. It set the light at about 100 hundred miles. I had the car put on the machine to verify the codes. There were 2 02 heater codes and 2 emission codes(no cats)
The bad news was the 'correction' factors the computer was sending out--'safe mode'--way too rich. I had the car dynoed and A/F measured. The A/F ratio was way rich. 3 weeks ago, I moved the 02 bungs as recommended by Belanger. The light was still set. I made an appt. to have the codes checked again, hoping to at least be rid of the 02 codes. Last Sunday, before the diagnosis, the light was out when I started the car. There is about 1350 miles driven since the 02 bungs were moved and maybe 50-60 starts. The diagnosis last Tues. shows: no 02 codes. 2 cat codes(PO432&420) in memory. Because the light went out on it's own, I am told these memorized codes may go away after an unknown number of 'global' trips. The test showed 'no secondary'
indicators and no 'one trip' failures. No adaptives over 11%. My mechanic didn't clear the codes as the whole cycle may start over again. We're using the 'let sleeping dogs lie' theory. It is 480 miles to the nearest dyno, so it will be next year before it gets tested again. Hope to get another 1000 miles on before storage--currently at 14.5K.

Rick,
The check engine light should continue to light up and go off on it's own. Mine would go on and off every couple of hundred miles.
