My UnMcViper Now Has Chrome Wheels and Gen II hood

Well, with some work, I fitted the Gen II hood from my B&W GTS (Bburago) to my UnMcViper. And, today I received my '96 RT to give me the correct chrome gen II wheels.

With some grinding and cutting, I've fitted the Bburago hood to the Maisto RT body (see pics). Now, I need to sand and paint and I'll have an RT/10 as close to my '98 as possible.

Had to grind down "locking bumps" on RT that hold the hood closed:

Had to cut the hinge piece and grind down the inside edge of each bottom where it meets the RT body:

Then, the correct chrome wheels came today, so here it is minus some finishing work and correct paint Yes, oops on the scratch at the edge of the hood above the headlight...but I will fix before painting:

Getting closer, though I kind of like the black wheels (put on the silver 96 I received today.

There are clearly some size differences between the hood on a Bburago and that of a Maisto, though it might be the difference between a GTS hood and RT/10...not sure.

Well, had to do a little cutting on the hinge mount and then wet sanded the hood, after slowly peeling off the stripes and grinding the "Viper GTS" logo on sides.

Did about six coats of paint, wet sanding after 3rd coat. Finish came out pretty good but, while the color on the hood was a closer match to my RT, it did not exactly match the rest of the body.

Doing more than I originally expected, I totally dismantled the UnMcViper (including removing all light lenses) and will re-do with the same color as the hood. Only thing I had to give up were the front and back Viper logos and the logo on the side of the hood that says Viper RT/10.

Can't stop in the middle, have to finish it now!
