well i finally went to see aaron and his family this weekend. i had held off a few weeks due to some last minute checks that some donors were sending that had asked for a little more time. we ended of raising over 8200 dollars with over a grand still on the way. we should have the 10k goal by mid june but i wanted to go ahead and give aaron's family the great viper stuff sent in by you guys and the money we raised so far so that cota could deposit it.

i really have to say that the cars and shirts were a BIG hit

he just loved them!!! i had to actually fight him a little over the signed autographed lemans shirt but i gave in reluctanctly

the big thrill for the day was when i gave him a SPRIRITED ride in the viper around the block. while we were driving i told him that if he ever wanted me to take him to school one morning before he goes down to florida(hospital) just let me know. well, when we got back from the ride we sat down again and i gave his family a little history on how this thing started and how you guys/gals REALLY stepped up to the plate for me and how proud i was to be a part of the viper club. they briefly looked thru the cards and letters and checks while we sat and just were amazed!!!!

before they left, aaron's dad asked if i would mind giving aaron a ride to school monday morning and i said great. so, i picked him up at 7:30 and we took the LLONNNGGG way to his school... with still time to spare

. alot of his friends were out front and i could tell that it was really fun for him to have his friends see him pulling up in the big yellow beast. i tell you no number of times down the 1/4 mile or down the straights of road atlanta can even compare to the joy of seeing aaron's grin when we shot out onto the highway on the way to school or when we pulled up to the front.

yeah... it's just a car

George,
Thanks for the update. Sounds like you and Aaron had a super time in the car. I had a similar experience with a physically challenged young man outside a BlockBuster video store...he knew more about the car than I did!
Great job George...

Thanks for the post George! Great story, Aaron had a great ride to school in a .....did you say yellow beast? It wasn't a V-10 school bus was it, with an MGW shifter knob? Thanks again for the story, can't wait for the pictures.
