Wow, and it is in Kansas too! Note that it is being sold as USED ("never wrecked") and not as a new/MSO vehicle as 99% have been sold. $76,000+ for a used Viper. With the gas guzzler and everything paid, might not be a bad deal for somebody!

Probably because the dealer just wants to get rid of it. After all look at the location of the car. It is in the Mid-west. Also I guarantee you that the dealer thinks that it will hit the $80K+ and it probably will. He just used NO RESERVE as an advertising ploy.

In the Midwest is a bad thing? Full of poor people that can't afford Vipers unlike the Coasties? ;) And they did have a reserve, it was just met already. Don't forget that the car is USED - not new and not on MSO. Not exactly a fire sale at $76K+...

No, it's just that the 'Coasties' know that most every vehicle in the midwest has a trailer hitch so it can pull a haywagon out of the muddie field in the rain. Heck, even Bill P. usually throws in a hitch for free!!!!! (Hitches not available in SUPERSIZE, for Vipers, however)

Sale completed on ebay, final price $86,210. Looks like one of the higher bids on a low reserve car.

I still don't get it, Some of the people were selling their cert's for 5-20K not including the car which was added at MSRP. I would think the cars should be selling in the 88K-95K range with no problem. If you look on Ebay most of the cars with a buy-it-now option at 88K no one is bidding, or with a higher reserve over MSRP the auction is ending with no winner. My math 10,000 for a cert + 83,795 for the car should be $93,000.

DO we know if DC is keeping the price @ 83,795 for the 04's?

I believe that we have to keep in mind that spending $85,000. on an internet auction site takes somewhat of a leap of faith. I don't think I would do it. It could be that people spending that much money on a car want to see that it is real. If you look at the bidders on many of the auctions, you will find that many are dealers looking to obtain cars to resell.

And I would AGAIN point out that this car is and was listed as USED. NOT NEW. The certificate holders were selling at a premium (and generally with the disapproval of DC) because they were selling untitled cars. This car that sold was already titled and driven, albeit not much (250 miles).

Here is the deal: If anybody wants to buy my SRT for $86,000 right now, I will sell it to them. Not kidding. It has 1100 miles on it and is one of the strongest stock cars dyno'ed so far. It is titled and used, just like the one on eBay.

I do not throw in a hitch with every deal, since I can put my hay in the back of the BigAzz Ram Diesel. Besides, I don't need any hay since I sold all the
cattle. Heck it was cheaper to go with sheep, and now I don't have to fix my lawn mower? Have to go jump on the John Deere now, and go check the
little Vipers in da Snake Pit.

PS - New sales Promo. Free Hayrack rides with every purchase.

Sorry, been busy. Anyway, I am not necessarily looking to sell per se. However, if somebody is really willing to pay $86,000 for a USED Viper (heck, make it $85,000 for the miles), then why not? I don't mind getting back in line for another one for 2004. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely ADORE this car (in case you haven't noticed), but I am also a realist: If I can make enough to cover my debts and have a few pennies left over, so be it. Between the bogus speeding ticket (court date next Wednesday), crappy economy, and general lack of time to properly enjoy it, I could live without a Viper for a little while. It might also give me more time to devote to the club itself, as I am rapidly running out of it (time). I don't think I will advertise it for sale or put it on eBay, as I am not that eager to sell it. Still, if the price were right...

I was serious about the 911 Chris. Your Viper used....thats funny, I would say it is probably better than new.

And I would say you are probably right. ;) Don't know that I need a Porsche right now, unless you want to value it around $7,000. Ah, to be poor...
