New 2015 information

In the September issue of Car and Driver, they publish in their New cars for 2015 article.

"With the demise of the stand-alone SRT division, the Viper returns to the Dodge fold for 2015. A new GT model, which slots between the regular car and the GTS, arrives with a spiffy interior and adjustable shocks. The Track Attack 2.0 model has a stiffer suspension and carries a bigger wing than the '14 TA. The big V-10 makes five more horsepower for a total of 645 and sees a 1-mpg bump to 20 on the highway cycle.

Have not seen this information confirmed any place else, but it seems to be based on conversations with the Manufacturer.

The new Grand Touring Package is highlighted by grand touring-focused amenities previously available only with the Dodge Viper SRT® GTS. Handling and ride capability is expanded with the addition of a two-mode Bilstein® DampTronic Select suspension — Sport and Track modes, which can be adjusted on-the-fly. I read this the other day in my of copy of C&D too.

So...are we talking about converting an SRT to a GTS for $7500?

Sounds like it's not quite all the bells and whistles of a GTS, but I'm not hugely familiar with the options list to begin with. I've always been a little confused between the multi-mode shocks and multi-mode suspension. I thought they were the same thing? I thought the stability control had settings for cruise and track, so having shock settings for both seems redundant. All the same, sounds like at least you can pick stuff ala carte better than before.

These are some of the performance upgrades that the GTS has over the SRT, and ones also included in the TA.

2 mode dampers provide 2 handling modes suitable for different uses...street and track, rather than one mode for the base SRT.
5 mode stability/traction control provide different amounts of intervention for different driving conditions and driver skill level, rather than a simple on or off choice for the base SRT.

Excellent features that all vipers should have. The GTS and TA still have many other differences affecting handling, comfort and appearance.

I read this too but had some questions to the Ed.. They refer the TA as track attack but is it actually time attack like current models? Bigger wing? Current models have NO wing but rather a rear lip spoiler.

'14 TA is also Track Attack, not Time Attack. In an early rag article they did say Time Attack, but the official name has always been Track Attack.
