I recently bought a mint 2000 black RT/10 with 17,110 miles (and paid $43k btw). I looked the car over thoroughly and had a tech check it out and it passed the inspection and a carFax. After getting it home, I noticed the car has a lean towards the drivers side. I didn't notice it at the dealer since the car was sitting on a slope. Any particular reason this could be occuring?

I'm wondering if the car could be leaning due to sitting on a sloped parking spot for over a month.

Chuck.....thx for your help

could just be some spring sag, if the car is anything like mine, i rarely have a passenger(wife hates it) and sitting on a slope could put more pressure on that side.

Get some Eibachs and replace the stock springs, gives it a nice look and a cheap $250 fix!

I've seen other cars sit a little lower on the driver's side when the driver was a heavyweight. I've never really noticed that on a Viper, probably because a really big guy would have a hard time getting in and out of a Viper, but theoretically it could happen...

I would wait a few days to see if the suspension returns to normal after driving it before getting concerned. I know this is basic but double check your tire pressure in all 4 tires to see if you are low. Good luck.

Get out a tape measure.....If it is less than around a 1/2 inch difference, I would not even worry about it.

My 2000 GTS seems to sit about a 1/4 inch lower....sometimes less, sometimes a little more.

A lot of vipers are not level from side-to-side. The problem may have been there long before the "slope". As stated above, drive it around some, and then look at doing something with the springs if it persists.

CMilViper, you must have a keen eye to be able to detect a 1/4" lean. Could you actually see the lean prior to measuring or did you just measure to see if everything was level?

Haha...No I actually measured it with a tape measure to see...
You can't tell from looking, although I was concerned at one point like the poster above. It turned out to be slightly unlevel payment that gave it that appearance.....
