Maybe you got a great deal on a factory blem? Steve, fellow WA VCA MEMBER! Had you called me for tires, I would have told you:
Not all Michelin Sports are created equal!
You should see if the C-1 designation resides.
If you end up exchanging, you should consider 285s on the front for 2 reasons:
1) Gen-2 Vipers are factory-aligned with a tad bit of understeer. The 285 footprint is about 3/4 an inch wider (and the C-1s are also 1/8" wider!) so you get a noticable, immediate turn-in responsiveness. (secret weapon!)
2) 275 sidewalls are absolutely FLUSH with the outer edge of the wheel rim. If you get within 1 whisker of a curb: R A S H !
The 285 gives about a 1/2" shoulder of rubber...and a bit of a "curb feeler" safety cushion.
Good Luck.........maybe NEXT time? THANKS!
