Mornin everyone, I wanted share some new additions with you, nothing major, but my first mods!

I had installed the Mopar Race Exhaust, Computer Controller, Short Shifter, and S&B filters. It sounds incredible, not too loud, nice rumble at idle, and at about 2K it gets really mean sounding. But still not too loud:) Wife could here me coming down the street from inside the house though  Another byproduct, it seems to have a quicker throttle response too, and feels "peppier"

The shifter also transforms the car, simple thing like a short throw shifter really makes a difference. My service advisor told me he had no idea how great they were, and is going to recommend them to other Viper customers. Really fast shifts, yes, I need practice. All in all, I am very pleased with the mods, and should be ok for a while:)

I highly recommend the Mopar race exhaust, and short shifter, my .02

Thanks,
Dave

it add?

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's used only on cars without CATs. It basically informs the computer that your car no longer has CAT's. He did say he installed Mopar Race Exhaust. This is a CAT-less exhaust.

Thanks guys, it is a Mopar computer controller (dealer ordered for me)that is somewhat needed since the cats and O2 sensors are gone. Not sure of the power gains though, the filters are said to add 8-10 hp, and the exhaust is said to add 50hp (in conjuction with the race cam which I did not add) Hard to say really. Didnt do a baseline dyno so I may never know for sure. My SA estimated about 30-40 hp with the filters and exhaust.

The shifter is the Mopar short shifter with black knob and silver viper head. It is waaaaay shorter than the stock one. My lovely wife got me the shifter for Father's Day, she is awesome!

Good information here. I just wanted to know, did you happen to see exactly where this mopar computer controller was installed? Can it be reversed if needed?
thanks

The Mopar shifter is the Mopar / Hurst shifter. I bought the same shifter with Red/Black shift knob.

How hard is it to install the shifter? Is it a bolt on or do I need to do sime custom fitting, etc? Did it fit in without any problems? Is the stock shifter boot fine with this shifter?

Thanks.

Hey NOREDLINE< I also live in Az., and I was wondering how you are going to get through emissions testing without cats! Or are you just going to use this viper for racing purposes ? Just wondering.

I would be interested in the answers to this. Is this where you take off the ring and boot around the shifter and just change the shift lever or do you have to remove the console and replace the entire shifter like with the BM ripper?

Hi, apparently, it took them 3 hours to install the shifter alone. They had to get into the top of the tranny. Not sure if there was an easier way, but it took the dealer 3 hours. Yes, the stock boot is fine. I have had another day of practice with it today, maaaaan, it shifts so fast!!! I got the black knob with silver viper head.

GT40DOC, I kept all of the parts so when I need to get emissions checked in 4 or 5 years, I can replace the cats for testing, then remove again. Might be a bit of a pain, but so far, it is worth it. I use the car mostly every other weekend, no plans to race too much, but looking forward to Viper Days in Pahrump NV in September:)

Hey, how ya doin? Yeah, I missed HockeySnake's call this AM, I thought I was going to have the clearbra installed today and would have been home. I decided it would be better to get the swirl marks removed first. They clay barred, rubbed out, polished and waxed, 7 hours later, it looks like a black pearl!

Lunch sounds good tomorrow, let me know. Look forward to checking out your car too, prolly sounds mean with the belanger and other mods you have. This mod stuff can be addictive, already want to change the diff, and have a SC on my list of mods for the future:)

HS has my cell number, I will be out tonight, feel like takin the top off and going to the Pavillions. If you're not busy, come on down:) I left a message for HS to do the same. TTYS, will send U a PM.

Was told that the computer does not add any hp, just
adjusts timing and fuel, and raises the rev limit by
about 250 rpm. Was thinking of putting it on my 05 with
RT cats and Corsa Track, not sure if it is compatable
or not. It is a full up swap out though, not a "piggy
back".
