New T&D\'s/Belangers - less hp?

I just had T&D roller rockers and Belanger headers installed, and the seat of the pant feel is that I lost hp/torque. My other mods are baffle delete/K&N's/smooth tubes/Hi-flow cats/3" Corsa. I might have had higher expectations than I should have, or possibly my seat is telling me the truth. I have no dyno numbers to prove one way or another. These mods are leading up to the Roe S/C, at which point I hope that this question will be a moot point.

Has anyone else put headers/T&D's on and felt the same way?

America, Love it or Leave it. :usa:

Did you change or remove the cats. Both mods will be limited by the factory cats. When you combine headers, cat-delete and T&D's, you can definitely feel the difference.

The stock cats have been replaced with high flow after-market cats. The after-market cats are on the car right now.

I think we are all to quick to blame the PCM, however, you may want to re-evaluate after some time and full rpm runs.

A dyno or the GTech are the only accurate way to confirm your beliefs. Someone on the board had a GTech Pro available for $70.

Yes, I was thinking about the PCM. I did some wot this evening, and have put about 3 hours of driving on the car since the install. Maybe there is a time factor that I have not allowed to run it's course.

Your car might run too rich and it is hurting your HP/TQ. I lost 25 hp after taking the cats out and not installing the sims. After I installed them with VEC1 I gained 7HP and 13RWTQ over 25 that I lost.

Re: New T&D\'s/Belangers - less hp?

Hmm. I am getting ready to do that exact thing this week. I have Smooth tubes, S&B filters and 3" Borla cat back. I am installing Belangers, Random Tech hi-flow cats, new ignition wires, heavy duty half shafts and 3:55 gears this week. I have had my 2002 dyno'd twice, so I should be able to see actual numbers. I was going to do the TD's but Jon at Parts Rack talked me into 3:55's first. Still plan on adding TD's though. Seat of the pants feel won't be comparable because of the gear change, but the dyno numbers will be interesting. Last dyno did 421.4 HP and 461.1 torque with 55oo miles on the car. Will post results as soon as I get them!

Shifting into 5th? as in 1/4? I am into 4th only 10 seconds or so and I ran a 12.4 on my 4th run (first time ever to drag race). At 100 MPH in 6th, I am taching 1900ish, what can I expect with the 3:55's,thanks,RG

You'll still be in 4th,generally your 1/4 time will not improve. You may find 1 or 2 people to support the 355's(in the 1/4),I went back down to 333's better all round street/strip.The 355's are too hard to control tire spin for the 60ft times, which is most important with 1/4miling.For street driving only and from a ROLL you'll kill a stock viper forever and a day.WORDTOOOFST

Scott:

Well put, 3.55's = max speed of 136 in fourth gear, even less for a NOS car (window switch). A strong car will have to shift. On a stock car you can finish in third gear with a 3.07. With 3.55's you will bounce off of the rev limiter at 115 in third gear, thus, a need to shift into fourth for a very short time, again costing et. I guess you could argue that if you make enough up in the 60 it would offset the shifting time. Paul Suloff is an example of that.
