THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH YOUR CAR!!! RETURN IT TO THE DEALER YOU BOUGHT IT FROM IMMEDIATELY!!

it's perfectly normal. You have some options. You can bed them in, or you can change out the pads for more quieter street pads.

I got my new 2001 in December, also minor brake noise, at 1300
miles I still have the same minor noise. Not to worry!

Solve the problem for $145.00. Get a set of EBC greens. Believe me you will have a smile on your face after getting rid of the squeaks. Plus, better brake response.

Tony, if EBC greens end squeal and dust, what is the down side?
Is there a reason not to use them on a street car?
Thanks,
Tony

I just put ebc greens on my car today. the up sides are as noted. the downsides are they have a shorter life than oem stock. reasonable for me, i like my car looking good with little or no brake dust.

Mine squeaked loudly for the first 2000 or so miles. Now after 3500 miles they don't squeak as much. The dust is still there though.

No Break dust? NO annoying squeak?
I will be ordering a set today! Now the sad part is that I won't even be able to put them on until May when I get home!!

Sorry you can't make the meeting this Sat, Casey. I certainly agree with the EBC Greenstuff ! By the way, I have heard that the pads sold after Oct. '01 are supposed to last longer. At $149.00 for a full set, one can EASILY afford to change them when they wear down, since the dealer list price on OEM Dodge Viper pads is $414.00!!!! Bring your Viper to Indy when you can...we can use the mid-rise lift...makes this a quick and easy project.

My understanding is that you are advised not to use them on the track because the life of the pads is lower, and you don't want them to go out too quickly through the laps.

Steve,I won't be at a meeting until June! But then I will be around alot!! I will let you know when I get back, we can get those EBC pads on! I will have some other additions to add to my Snake immediately! Still trying to figure out which ones though!

Exactly right.
EBC Green pads are not for the track. They do, however, make pads that are suited for racing. As far as longevity, even if they don't last half as long as stock pads I think not having to deal with the squeaks and dust is reason enough to use them.
