Just a quickie on the security system operation; according to the service manual, on my 96 McViper RT/10, when you press the lock button on the remote, the horn should beep, and the alarm light should flash for about 15 seconds while the system is arming; the manual states that if the light comes on steady but doesn't flash, there is something wrong with the system (thanks a lot for the news flash); any shortcuts or familiarity with this problem? I haven't gone through all the testing as stated in the manual about opening each door and listening for the horn beep when the door opens and closed, etc. however I'm not sure if anyone recognizes this problem and can cut right to the chase as far as recognizing that it is typically one of the door switches, hood switch, or the security model itself, etc. The horn does beep when I hit the lock button, and the alarm will trip when one of the doors is opened if the alarm is set, so I'm not sure what "problem" exists if the alarm set light doesn't flash.......
