Newbie question

Hi Guys,

I have recently purchased a 2002 GTS FE. I love the car and wish to make a few practical upgrades. When I say practical, I mean within MY budget. I do admire you guys with extensive mods such as SC and such.

So, as a newbie I ask, what simple mods do you recommend (bolt ons)? And what type of performance increase can I expect?

I am considering smooth tubes and a different exhaust system, perhaps a Borla.

Also, are there any vendors that I need to be made aware of, positive or negative.

Within budget - go to any exhaust shop and have them replace the rear muffler with X, H or straight pipes. Cost $150-$200. That gave my 98 about 10 more hp.

Add hiflow cats or remove them for more sound and hp.

The only reasonable hp increase for the money is a nitrous kit.
Lots of power that you can feel. Any other mods will cost ten times the money per horsepower gained.
And most of the gain on the others will only be at high rpm.
