Three of the top six side sill screws on both sides of my GTS seemed to be stripped, and one of the bottom ones on each side. While working on the exhaust I decided this would be a good time to do the side sill cover mod as described in the Forum "how-to" section. I found that all of the top screw holes that seemed "stripped" did not actually extend through the insulation layers underneath the edge of the sill - they were screwed in to the insulation at the factory, but never through to the holes in the sill rail. The insulation needs to be drilled out to allow the screw to pass all the way through. No insulation covers the holes on the bottom of the sill on my car. So, check your insulation next time the side sills are off, and make sure the holes extend all the way through.
