Forgive me if this info has been previously posted. Is there currently a plan to do Pocono this year (either with another club or on our own)?

Phil,
Of course we are doing Pocono this year!

The NJ club's event will be on Thursday August 18th.

The Focner (Ferrari) event will be on April 29th.

I also have a new invite to an event for Memorial Day Weekend that includes Ferrari, Maserati, Corvette, Lamborghini & DeTomaso, at Pocono. I will be posting the details shortly, here and on the NJ site. www.viperclubnj.com (the site is 80% complete).

Thanks Larry.

Could you e-mail me the applications for both of those events (or point me in the right direction as to where I can download them from I tried the NJ site but didn't see them there.

Thanks again, see you soon.

CT,
Pocono is not drag racing, but it is probably the best time anyone can have in a Viper. 2.5 mile course, great instruction, tons of track time where you run in groups of your own level. If you check out the application at www.focner.com it will explain the track and the requirements. If you try it once you'll be hooked and you'll be marking your calendar for every Pocono event we get invited to. I attend everyone. It's the only track near us where you can safely run at 150 mph +.

Our Zone Event consists of drag racing and auto cross, and is also a great event, but different. Shortly I will be posting the exact schedule for the driving activities for our Zone event.

By the Way there is a Exotic car show on Saturday the 30th in West Chester PA. It's listed in events section also. We could stay overnight friday and attend that the next morning. Just a thought.

CT,
It was great talking with you this AM. I am glad you bought the suit.

Why am I on this site at 9:20 on a Saturday night?

I hate the winter, and I can't wait to rip it up at Pocono!!!

Great talking to you also. I hope the suit fits. If not I'll return it for another. I gave them my measurements they should know what they are doing. It was a lot cheaper then the price you quoted me. For the amount i'll use it, it should be fine. I'm on here for same reason tired of winter & between BB games on TV.

What is the bottom line on the driving suit and gloves. I see that the info on the site shows it is necessary but if memory serves, they haven't actually required it in years past. I know that PDA never requires it at Pocono.

Phil,
It depends on the club you are running with...

Last year when I attended the fall event with the Empire State Ferrari club at Pocono, they would NOT let me drive with the intermediate group because I had NO suit.

That won't happen this year because I will have a suit.

I would be suicidal if I drove all the way there and had to run in the green group. Guess I'll be safe and get a suit. What's a good deal on a suit these days?

Regarding the suits, I see that there are two standards (at least in the Simpson that I looked at, STD 6 and STD 19) Are both std 6 and std 19 acceptable? Also, does anyone know the difference between the two standards?

I don't know guys. The suit is comfortable, no question, that is why I wear it cause I don't plan on needing it for a crash, but the only guys who really had to wear a suit were the guys in the red group. Blue group and down guys did not have to wear a suit.
