NJVCA 9-11 RUN

Here's the layout for Saturday. We meet at the Quizno's in Secaucus, NJ at 7am, the address is 10 Meadowlands Parkway. We depart from Quiznos at 7:30am and head to NYC via the Lincoln Tunnel (I will hand out the run directions Saturday morning ). Once we complete the run we will head to the Waterfront Cafe in Carlstadt, NJ for anyone who wants to have lunch. http://www.waterfrontcafe.net/ Click on the site and you'll see they have a small driving range and mini golf course. I did not make any reservations as of yet, so if you see we are getting a good size crowd I will set something up with the restaurant.

Directions to Quizno's

From South or North
NJ Turnpike to exit 16W to Route 3 east to Meadowlands Parkway exit. At the light you will make a right and proceed back under Rte 3 east, Quizno's will be on your right.


From NYC
Lincoln Tunnel to Rte 3 West to Meadowlands Parkway exit, make a left at the end of the ramp and proceed back under 3 west, Quizno's will be on your left.

This is a rain or shine event. Remember this is not about us, its about those who lost their lives to cowards and that we should never let this happen again. So wear your Red, White and Blue ( Milonas T-Shirts would be perfect) and show the world that these colors do not run.

This is the first I heard of the NJ guys doing this. Can we coordinate this with the NY guys? I think they had the original idea but it doesn't matter since this is not a competition. It will be better to have a bigger gathering.

How many Vipers are coming from NJ?

Let me know if I'm wrong but was it not Andrew who came up with this idea and we all was going to hook up with him at a meeting place. I know it's for the same reason but it is only fair since if it was not for him no one would be doing this run. Like I said this e-mail is not to get things going back and forward because we all are doing it for the same reasons. I know for a fact it was Andrew idea. *** BLK

Gentlemen,
I applaud Andrew and NY,and we're not looking to cause a problem or steal his thunder.
That said, logistically for the NJ members, our meeting place works for us and again I believe it works for those who live in Rockland County and Orange County. The guys in NYC and LI can meet up with us on 34th street between 11th and 12th ave. If this doesn't work for you guys, then give a suggestion. I had not seen any formal plan from the New York guys, so please inform us.

YES, the original idea was Andrew's. That said if you read the original thread I did state that I would be bringing this up at the NJ VCA's officers meeting on the eve of 9/1/04.

On 9/2/04 I acknowledged Andrew with this reply "Andrew,
Your idea went over very well when I suggested it at last nights NJ meeting. As you could see my man scuba pro is already getting the north together and I am trying to put a central group together to hook up with the north caravan".

On 9/3/04 Andrew stated "I guess to get a handle on the arrangements, NJ will get together NJ. Dimitrios can get together Long Island. I'll be happy to get together anyone in NY/CT."

Lastly I applaud Andrew for his idea and Jerz Viper for all his effort in planning and getting the NJ club together.

Geez, guys....I couldn't care less who's idea it was. I'm not looking for no pat on the back. I just want to go. I'm impressed from the NJ club getting thier Sh*t together. I have bumped this up a few times asking to hear from the L.I. guys and upper NY guys and have heard nothing except from XXXBLK.

I'm ready to go. What time do you tink you will be at 34th and 11-12th?

To all, I just went to the official website regarding street closures for 9/11. This will not effect us at all.

Scheduled 9/11 Street Closures



September 10, 2004

On September 11, the following streets will be closed during the ceremonies at the World Trade Center site:

Vesey Street between Broadway and Church Street
Vesey Street between West Street and North End Avenue
Church Street will be open to Transit Authority buses only
West Street will NOT be closed
Park Place to Warren Street from Broadway to West Street will be used for parking
In addition, the North Pedestrian Bridge at Vesey Street will be closed from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m.

NJ guys meet in Secaucus at 7Am depart at 7:30am and meet the rest at 8 am heading west on 34th street between 11th and 12th. See you all in the AM
