Normal or not ? rear backlite prop

i have a 00GTS and when the car was new the rar glass liftgate would go up by itself as soon that it was opened a few inchs.
Now I have to lift the glass all the way.
The struts/props don't seems to have enough "energy" to do the job.
Do you think that it should be covered under the waranty?

Same here Luc..I suspect that new ones would go the same way after the same amount of time.
