2004 with 1300 miles now. Kinda howls from rear end until the fluid gets warmed up. I take it, it's time for a change. Was just wondering how long the diff fluid would be good for. I realize 7 years is way to long. I was hoping the previous owner would have changed it once, but he did not.
I have a hand pump, so looks like this week I will be removing the belly pan for the change.
I also hear a high frequency electrical noise when car is running, I take it this is the fuel pump!! I've heard this before in my other cars I've had.
Thanks. It's nice to know I have the extended warranty on this car I just purchased, this is my second Viper, and I really love the car. Totally stock, nothing like the one I had, which I really miss as well.

Just had a discussion with Tator about the differential this week. He recommends Antoine change every year. It's been about three for me so I know I'm due.

Yep, I talked to Chuck also. Just checking with other members just for the heck of it. Just lazy on getting under there and removing the belly pan. I've done it a few times on my old car, not bad. This time I'm going to get a better hand pump. Any suggestions would be great. I know about the mityvac, but for the few times I'm going to change diff and tranny all I need is a decent hand pump.

The diff oil was a darkesh grey. I'm glad I swapped it out. Looked nothing like the new gear oil I put in. 76 bucks for 2 qrts and 4 oz of LSD. Kinda of pricy considering you won't use both quarts. I ran a little through just for grins before I installed the plug. I let it drain over night. Will put the pan up tomorrow and see and hopefully feel the difference.
