Oops I broke it!

Out driving, and oops, I broke an axle shaft going to my left wheel.

The shaft next to where the universal connects to the differential, just twisted and broke off, like a twizzlers candy.

Is this covered under my warranty? I have the factory extended drive train warranty.

I need to get this fixed as soon as possible. I am leaving for the SEMA show in Vegas this weekend and need the car for an event as soon as I get back.

If this is not covered, how much is this part? and does anyone have one?

Thanks!

It should be covered by the warranty (I'm assuming you're talking about a D.C. warranty).

I twisted a half-shaft (axle) on my 94 and it was covered.
(D.C. Added Care Plus warranty)

From the dealer the half-shaft lists for about $900.

Another thought would be to upgrade to stronger aftermarket ones (several sources, BTR, Unitrax, etc) with varying prices, but cheaper than buying two factory ones considering the list price of the factory ones. The BTR's are cheaper for the pair than one factory one.

If it's not covered.

Just get the HD aftermarket Half Shafts. Cause it'll just happen again.

Thank you, to everyone that posted. I printed off this site and took it to the dealer today.

They will be fixing the car under warranty and have no problem getting replacement parts.

I will be taking the car in Tuesday the 12'th and they assured me it would be ready the same day.(I'll have it for the weekend of the 16'th like I needed!)

Thanks again, Steve

PS, I told them I was just driving along, and all of a sudden...
They didn't beleive me...
