Just picked up a '96 gts and drove it for the first time. Words cannot explain how awesome the car really is. Insane power, razor sharp handling and stunning good looks. I'm and honest 6'6"+ and the car is a little tight, but I could care less. One romp on the gas and you forget all the minor faults this car has. The car is basically stock except for K&N and smooth tubes. I can't even begin to imagine some of you guys with 700+ hp. I was getting a little scared above 4 grand on the tach and will take a little time to get comfortable driving this monster. This truly is one of the greatest cars of all time.

I live near Lansing Michigan. I can't believe they make a car this powerful for the street. I have rode in vettes and some other pretty fast cars, but this thing is a whole different animal in terma of brute power. When you punch it, you are sucked back in the seat and when you lift to shift you fly forward only to be slammed back when you get back on the go pedal. SWEET!!!

blue and whites are sweet. My first Viper was a 96 b/w GTS and I miss it even with having a new ACR in it's place.

Enjoy and PLEASE!!!!!!! be safe. Just when you think you know how to handle the cars power...it will bite you.

Congrats Michigan snake brother! Take your time and get plenty of seat time. Explore things slowly and let everything become second nature. Your and your Viper will become one and you'll love the driving experience even more. If you're ever in the northern Detroit suburbs give me a honk and we can cruise.

Congrats! :2tu:

I am also 6'6" and have a 2" seat lowering kit. This is a MUST buy mod, and will make you more comfortable in your Viper than you ever imagined possible!

Got it from a guy in Wixom Michigan. Has 10k, but has only been driven 4k in the last 4 yrs. This thing is pretty close to mint with the usual chin scrapes that you can't even see. Plan on changing the wimpy exhaust to corsa w/o cats to put some decent sound in this machine. Already has some sort of carbon fiber air box with cone filters, not sure who makes it. Sounds like a cacuum cleaner when you stand in front during idle. Will no cats make this thing unbearably loud?

May I enquire as to the price you paid for this beauty?

This car was listed in the viper classifieds. I believe it is the second or third one listed. The former owner kept it in a carpeted garage and would put it on his lift and clean the bottom after driven. He also had a bra for it any time he had to take it on the freeway, so not to get any chips. This is a very clean car. Will post more pics when I can

Now all you need to do is change the exhaust, port/polish the heads, change the cam, install race pistons slap a blower and intercooler on it, put in some some T&D's, change the throttle bodies, upgrade the the fuel system, change the half shafts, buy BFG's, and install AEM's management system and that's it.

Just Kidding, welcome to the club. Sweet ride looks very clean.

Carbon fiber box with cone filters sounds like the K&N setup. I agree with you on the exhaust change. Corsa catback was the first mod I made on my 97. It'll definately be louder without cats. You can always try it without the cats and if it's too loud then just install high flow cats. Borlas without cats will be really loud.
