Does anyone know of a good painter in the Chattanooga area?

I'm thinking about adding an '08 hood soon and just the painting of the hood isn't a big concern. What I am a little apprehensive about is painting the stripes correctly. I have vinyl stripes right now, but I need to have them painted on the entire car when I change hoods, because there is no good way to run vinyl on the '08 hood. They can't just use the current pattern because the stripes on the '08 are thinner up front and then spread out a little as they go back.
I just want someone competent that can paint them correctly.

Friend of mine was happy with some repair and paintwork done on his Z06 at Vinson's Village. Said it's on 153/Shallowford, behind the car dealerships next to Enterprise car rental. FYI, he also said they're cash/check only; no credit cards.

Here's what googling it gave:

Vinson's Village Body Shop

Chattanooga, TN 37421

I have used Visnon's in the past when my, ahem, Corvette got rear ended and was happy with their work as well. Just not sure on getting the stripe measurements correct if they haven't done it before.

Chad, I thought about Ringgold and will check with them as well. Now I just have to convince myself to spend the money. :)

I can see if Steve can pull it in and do it for you. I think he's doing Thomas's as well. You've seen his work. I think he quoted me $1,000 when he painted my car.

Yours looks great, but has done the stripes before? Is the $1,000 for painting the new hood and striping the car?
I hope to find someone closer, but I haven't really even started looking or getting quotes yet.

Painting isn't necessarily the issue. The issue is the layout (masking) to make sure that the lines are straight, even, and the stripe widths are to your satisfaction. Any shop that does custom paintwork should be able to lay out the stripes. Some body shops actually sub out this step to a company or person experienced in this area. Make sure that the stripe widths are correct and specify the correct paint code. Ask to see the masking layout prior to painting. Also, make sure that the stripes are "overlayed" thick enough and clearcoated to leave an edge or ridge (in order to maintain the factory look and feel).

Not to hijack your thread or get off topic, but who did your vinyl stripes ? I was leaning toward striping the car but did not want anything permanent yet.
