Particles in Coolant

I drained my 94RT about a month ago and refilled. Not long
after, the car ran hotter than normal. I figured I needed to
purge the air out. I opened up the radiator cap and found some sort of particulate floating around in the coolant. I siphoned out some of the coolant with a bulb syringe and put it in a container.

It looks like black paint chips. Very small. But they did sink in the container. I took the car in today and the tech was not sure what it was. He said "maybe paint is coming off the inside of the radiator". I cant imagine they paint the inside. My concern is related to what this could be and if it could be head gasket problem. Any help or thoughts. THANKS

My best guess without putting the flakes in a mass spectrometer!

How old was the original coolant? If OLD-original, some flakey corrosion undoubtedly built up inside the radiator or even the motor. The flush 'n Fill you performed 30 days ago disturbed it, added NEW corrosion protection, and "cleaned" these internal flakes loose. Esp if you used the new, long-life coolant.

Hey John, Thanks for the reply. The previous coolant was
relatively new. I had to replace my timing chain gasket 8 months
ago. Maybe it was corrosion from both times? Could it possibly be the head gaskets? Almost hoping for it. Would like the rebuild while still under warranty.
