Hi folks -- Hoping someone has some ideas. Yesterday, a truck had a tire incident right in front of me & my '97 GTS (blue/white) and the tire detached and struck the passenger side mirror housing. A little buffing removed the scratches, but the mirror itself (just the glass) popped out and shattered. Dealer wants $250 for a whole new mirror plus paint plus installation.

Is it possible to get just the mirror, or are there good "recycling" sources that anyone knows of?

By the way - I'mnew to Vipers -- this is my first. My second questions is where Houston people take their cars for service etc.

Thanks! Love the car :)

Also, if your mirror is the same as on my Gen 1, its actually off a 3000 GT. Call A mitsubishi dealership and see if they can order just the glass (I'd say for like a 97-99 model). I used to be a Mitsubishi parts manager and on some Mitsu's you can order just the glass, and on some, you have to order the whole assembly. I'm not sure about the 3000GT

Or try locate a junkyard with a Mitsubishi 3000gt. On a side note, are the mirrors the same for the dodge stealth (since 3000gt = stealth)?

I had the parts guy at the dealer I use look up a Stealth and a Viper mirror once. The Stealth mirror $73.00 (list) the Viper mirror $267.00 (list). Not a bad markup for changing a part number.

I brought a complete Mitsubishi mirror for a member here off ebay, the owner also just wanted the glass - $30 bargain, behind the glass was a number that was identical on both

I had to do this on a '92 Dodge van; the passenger side is fisheyed and all I could find in regular auto parts stores was the flat mirror. The first windshield repair place I called had them in stock, glass only. You'll have to supply your own glue or mastic if you need that.
