I forgott to mention that my Gen1 with the above mods(Belangers and open 3" exhaust) does the Quarter mile in 11.85/120Mph...
(OPS! this post was intended for the Gen1 exhaust discussion)

JP, What specific Dynomax muffler do you have? What model # Is it the 24219 - 18" or the 24222 - 12"?

JP put a picture on the other thread, they are the race mufflers from dynomax, not the Ultraflows. Hey JP, was the 11.85 made with stree tires or drag slicks?

Mike

P.S they look like the 18", I sold a set just like them and that is my guess.

Craig, the mufflers I have are the longer ones.
Mike, the 11.85/120Mph were made with M/T ET Streets (1.70 60 foot) The launch was realy soft, I couldnt use the nitrous becaus the clutch started to slip, So I just did two runs without Nitrous.
11.85/120Mph and 11.86/120Mph. The speed indicates good power to be a Gen1.

Thanks JP...here's my decision point...

I have a 95, stock exhaust and don't plan to change anything until I can go to headers and 3" in a few years.

Removed cats and now looking for exhaust. Don't want too loud to be annoying but don't shy from noise. Since the cats are gone the system will already be louder. My Dynomax choices are

17230 Race Series 6" round Street and Race use 16" long
24236 Bullet 4" round Race use only 18" long

I wonder which I should go with? It's a stock system which is 2 1/2 I believe so maybe that isn't as loud as a 3"??

I use the Race only muflers in my system. And most important...install a set of Belanger headers ASAP. And after that a Camshaft that will wake up the beast! :)
