Just got done talking with Michelin and they told me that they have made a summer tire to be the rightful successor to the mxx3. It's called the Pilot Sport Cup.

The Pilot Sport Cup is Not a run-flat tire

The initial Sport Cup tires made are for Porsche cars and will be adding additional sizes. Next seems to be some BMW oem applications.

While they expect a Viper size, there was nothing on the schedule support could tell me about.

The Pilot Sport moved more toward an all season tire than the mxx3 was and they have had a lot of requests to bring back a dry surface performance tire. The pilot sport is imported but the new pilot sport a/s (all season) is American made.

If you have any Michelin connections lobby them for a Viper size in the new Cup tire.

I saw those cup tires in an article on a Tire Rack mailer a couple of months ago. Quickly went to the web to check it out and they are not even close to Viper stock sizes yet.

How are they on the pocket book??? these stock Mich's are so **** expensive!!!!

I remember when I found out about the mxx3 tires i went right out and bought a set for my other club racer car (Impala SS) and loved them. They stuck like glue on the track. I think then they were 300.00 a piece..... right after i bought them a week later the price was dropped in HALF.

Bring on the new Cup tire so they can at least drop the price on the Stock pilots Tires!!!
