I took the neighbors son out for a quick ride in the viper and when we got back he wanted to see the engine. After opening the hood I noticed that the power steering cap is gone!

There was some fluid on the motor, but not much, and there is still fluid in the tank....

anyone else have this happen? anyone know the part number so I can get a new one, or is this a generic part that I can get at the local autzone...

thanks!

You need to do a search on this site and find the thread concerning the power steering cap that is virtually failsafe that is made by one of our fellow board members. They are only about $20 +/-. Anyone keeping the stock cap on their car is just waiting for an accident to happen.

very lucky, check around the headers and in the engine compartment, you do not want this to sit on a heat source it might catch on fire.

wow.... thanks everyone… I didn't realize it was so serious at first.... although now I do remember hearing about a viper burning up due to power steering fluid.....

I'll get that kit....

Doug, do you have this kit?

The HiPo Engineering Power Steering Vent Tube is now sold by no other than.....

Roe Racing
Archer Racing

It works with your OEM cap. Bummer you didn't have it before because the cap is $35. Lucky you the fluid didn't spill over the headers and catch everything on fire. www.hipoengineering.com
