Power window motor

This is the second one that has gone bad on me. Last time I think I paid close to $300 for the Dodge replacement. Seems kinda pricey. Anybody ever look at one of these things? I'm thinking of going to an electric motor shop and see if they have any motor substitutes that will work better and last longer.

Anybody else ever try something different for the power window motor?

Chuck, I am not sure if these links will help you, but I know that Graingers and Mc Master Carr have a "lot" of different AC and DC motors and power drives. Maybe you can find something comparable. There is also a Universal Shop website. A1 Electric.

Also, could the motor be rebuilt from a shop? Sometimes it is just an open winding or an internal overload protector....easy to check with an ohm-meter.
