A friend said that it was going to be 95K. Has a price been announced? That's seem too low to me.
Thanks

According to the SRT chat session, SRT said no pricing has been announced yet.

Nothing official of course, but from all the mumblings and grumblings I heard at the Viper Gala, it seems a literal base SRT Viper, with zero options could be had for under 100k. But, even one single option...upcharge paint, for example...would put it up over 100. Everything about the GTS was a guess...

Keep in mind all the pricing so far has been from sources that are at times far from credible. The goofy 137K figure came from an individual who posted on here (with a total of around 6 posts) that he had a friend who knew someone and the inside dope was the car would be $137,999. Then Allpar picked it up and acted like it was gospel. The SRT Chat this evening, numerous times questioned where the heck that price came from, responding in a somewhat incredulous manner. The definitive, at present, is that pricing is not set and with orders going in maybe this Fall it could be quite late before it is announced. I know many old time Viper owners/buyers remember ordering cars and waiting quite awhile before pricing was announced. The faithful need to just take that SRT plans on having two pricing structures with two models and the GTS will have a ton of options so it's price will likely vary alot due to individual preference. Hang in there and the 95K figure was just a magazine estimate, and sure it could be true, but we all know how often those figures end up being incorrect as they are based on magazine publication and pure estimation.

From my understanding, the plan is to announce the prices at an upcoming Summer dealers meeting.

It would seem right that dealers should know the pricing and markups before the general public so they can set their dealership pricing and take advanced orders at firm prices.

It may, since production is not scheduled till the end of the year, they they have not yet decided on pricing for base models, and options. It may be the case that they do not yet have firm pricing from their suppliers yet.

No matter...The factory MSRP will not be the actual pricing from the dealerships, as that will depend on supply, demand, and their profit strategy.

In the past, new Vipers sold for over sticker in the beginning, then for sticker, then for under sticker. Maybe the same will happen this time.

Didn't the 2003 SRT10 hit the showroom floor for $128,500? (That's what it was in Canada)

I will be surprised if you can get into the new Viper for under $100k considering the new materials (ie. carbon fiber, hand stitched leather, technological systems, etc)

I think under $100k for the base and maybe $105-115k for a base GTS. Optioned out $115-125k. Just a guess.

Bill I have noticed a couple of dealerships with online sites are saying they are now accepting orders for the new Viper. Was just wondering how they would take orders without knowing a price point?

We have been taking deposits for a very long time, and I imagine that is what the reference is for, as you are correct that no one can actually order the car. I think it is just sematics , and I try to avoid that by stating we are taking deposits for the new Snake, but pretty easy to drop the word order in the mix as it is used in the same context.

As noted on the SRT Chat, actual orders will likely be inputted this Fall, but even those of us with large allocations could be theoretically sold out by then, hence the reason we have been actively doing this for quite awhile. Even though we got more 2010s than anyone else, there will be some changes in 2012 with the new demands that will be placed on Dealerships. We are quite thankful for the proposals being adopted by the new SRT as they are in the vein of how we have operated for well over 13+ years.

Hope that explains things better, and what a surprise, I got a bit wordy, ha,ha.

I'm confused why the Gen V would sell for less than the Gen IV. Wasn't the Gen IV like 96k?

My '09 no stripes coupe stickered for 95,605. Base price was 89,340. I have to believe the 2013 will be at least 10k more than that.

Motor Trend new issue $95,000 Estimated.

If Road & Track, Car & Driver, and Automobile magazines also print the $95,000 value should we believe it more? After all, they all agree on the same value. Ignore the fact that all of them have the endless chore of filling up space in each monthly issue.

You can speculate all you want, and little birdies may still whisper, you can talk to your friend who knows somebody, or do a mathamatical calculation based on statistical analysis, but so far the word straight from SRT is that it has not been anounced, and is subject to many factors. Ralph has mentioned that the prices posted on this forum are not coming from him, and he does not know how they have been surmised.

Ralph has mentioned that regarding pricing he knows where the Viper has come from, and is aware of what Dodge represents. SRT has always been a bang for the buck company, and I suspect the Viper pricing will make sense to the marketplace when it is officially released.

Only things we know for sure is that there will be two models for the street. Each will have base pricing, and lots of options. It seems that almost everybody can choose their own price by which boxes they check. Something for everybody.

All I know is that I have less than a year to save up : >)

It's official. The price will be fair. Now use one of the high volume Viper dealers that sponsor this site ( my personal favorite is Woodhouse) and put down a deposit. Don't forget to provide your VCA Member number. The SRT Engineer chat we just had made it clear that people who are paid up members of the VCA at the time of the order will get priority ahead of non members at the plant. And NO, the order book is not open but you can still do a deposit with a reputable dealer who is likely to get a good allocation of Vipers. All of the standard equipment and options were shown in the 54 page spec sheet that anyone can download and read. I did and it is worth a read.

A 2010 Coupe listed at the end of it's run for 91,005, plus 1700 gas guzzler and 930 for shipping. Total equals $93,635 and we all know the magazines frankly have to estimate and their figures seldom ever figure shipping or gas guzzler into the equation. If we added shipping and gas guzzler to the 95K we would be at $97,630 and that is a solid 4K increase. Is that figure correct........who the heck knows, as everyone is extrapolating different theories just like this , but direct from management, no figures have been officially decided on. Since the early figure of 137K+ was noted as the price, not what it could go up to, this stirred the *** from day one, but all one had to do was listen in on the SRT Chat on Wednesday and when that amount came up they just responded with comments like, "Where the heck did that figure come from"???

Since some of the options have not even gotten final approval it would seem that logic tells us it might be hard to figure the price on some items. Could the car end up in the 130s with every conceivable option, who knows? What does seem to have come out is that we will have two models of Stryker and two price points , and as Paul and Bob have mentioned , Ralph understands the Viper mentality and it will be fairly priced.

A big part of the pricing is how many SRT thinks they can produce and sell. I wouldn't be surprised if they could keep a well optioned car in the nineties if they think they can sell 3000+ units a year.

Ralph's presentation at the IL VCA (and a southern region) said that 6 of the top 7 requests were fulfilled. #7 was paddle shifters, which we now know it doesn't have. One of the others was to keep the car under $100k. I'm assuming that's a stripped down SRT Viper with no options.

Even a "stripped" Gen V Viper has tons more items than the Gen IV it is replacing.

More HP, more Torque, better suspension, better stereo, better transmission, better lighting, better interior, better gear ratio, wider tires, wider wheels, better aero, enhanced styling, Carbon fiber body, lighter weight... So many improvements they could make a strong case to really up the price, but I suspect that SRT will do us right on this one.
