Has any one that installed these had problems with the headers hitting the frame ever so slightly on the passenger side near the bottom?

I know the engine is straight in their, 3 new engine mounts. I am wondering if it could be the thickness of the Jet Hot coating put on making them rub?

If I lift the motor ever so little it no longer rubs, would it be ok to shim the motor a bit?

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ed

Ed....whats the answer....

Bob D hit the nail on the head, shim the motor 1/8th an inch. Worked like a charm.

Frank,

It was cool to see your Comp Coupe on Saturday, what an awesome Machine!! I think that was the best part of the show was to finally get to see one in person.

Take care,
Ed

Can anyone please respond on how the Edelbrock sound & performance compared to other aftermarket headers. Are they any louder than the factory manifold?

Thanks

Ed, so ya finally got it back.
My advise is to stay off the throttle and don't rock the motor. But then that's kinda like saying is isn't going to get dark tonight either. Glad to hear you got it home again. :D

Not sure of performance because I have not dynoed the car and did numerous other things when I put them on. I will say they bolt up nicely and look great!! The sound of my Gen I is loud with them on, but that could have something to do with the rest of the exhaust set up. I don't notice any differance in sound between these and the Stock Gen I manifolds, my car sounds just as loud now as before, but no louder.

I bought the headers from Scott at Elite Motorsports, he can probably answer all your questions concerning these headers as he has them on his personal car for a while. Also gave me a great deal on them too.

Got it back yesterday, man is this thing a beast. Definitely just reminds me of a straight up race car, not like the ***** sister the GTS. It is not for the faint at heart.
