Purging Trapped Air From Your Vipers Cooling System 1992-93 only

Can someone give good advise how to "burb" your 1993 Viper.
As I understand 1992 and 1993 has radiator cap and NO surge tank.

All the advise I find is for 1994 and up. I do have a 1993 repair manual, but are there any other practical "tips"?

I want to drive to Chucks B-B-Q and would like to get this air out for good....It seems to come back again and again. Car runs fine, except it pukes antifreeze when its very hot.

Hi Lauri,
What works sometimes is to take off the Heater Hose by your Heater Valve, the one headed to the back side of the Block. Stand it up and use a small funnel to fill the motor. That will let you get in as much coolant as possible. After that the only trick is PATIENCE!! They are a PITA!

Lauri- There are 2 entry's in the- How To - Section.

Go to the "Home" page at www.ViperClub.org
Scroll down and on the Left Side in the options there is an entry called How To. Click on it and scroll to

a) Purging Your Cooling System (Burping)- Good read for general Info.
b) Cooling System Bleeder Kit- A possible solution to the problem.

I have replaced my water pump once. I suspect from running the car with air in the system. Kind of a learn as I go situation. I just last week topped of my coolant and next couple of times out in the car - Puked anti-freeze.
I am going to get the kit from Speedworks and install it to try to avoid future problems.

Lemmee see...........you want to get the bad air out BEFORE Chuck's BBQ?

Chuck hit the answer on the head. Fill 1993s from the heater hose. Another option is to RAISE the front end a LOT...ie make the radiator cap on the radiator (!) higher than the motor.

Get the AirBleeders from Keith Verges Speedworks for an easier job

Jon,, I dont think chuck would like if I were full of "bad air" at his B-B-Q, right?? Hah, Haa... I will have a look at the AirBleeders from Keith Verges Speedworks.

Jeff and Chuck, I will see you at the B-B-Q. I will be there with 2 yellow PA Vipers. Mine is a old 1993 R/T 10 with autoform top on it.
(unless I deside to leave all tops home and drive 4 hours in 38 degree morning temperature with a hat on...?) It is supposed to be nice weather, but I might just leave the top on...

Has anyone used these from Roe racing with the bleeder valve included? Is this a good solution?

Roe Racing kits are GREAT...I have installed the radiator hose kits on one of our Gen I's (5 hoses, one has a bleeder valve) and one of our Gen II's (2 hoses, one has a bleeder valve). This involves some work...BUT WELL WORTH IT...as I don't plan on replacing these silastic hoses again. The bleeder valve sure makes future coolant changes/flushing easier (and SAFER for the system)...something that I plan to do MORE FREQUENTLY !!!! One thing worth noting...CHECK your hose connections/clamps frequently right after the change...WATCH for any hose "creep". I found this at two sites on the Gen I...CLEARLY due to MY lack of experience in tightening the hose clamps on this type of hose. This is EASILY remidied by a couple of post installation inspection AFTTER a couple of short road trips.
