About 6 months ago, I asked Timberline Dodge to get me an SRT-4. Yellow, to match my ACR. Friday, they called..........come git it! Traded '99 Neon RT; 150HP OHC, Blue w/stripe/spoiler: 9%VIPER is the plate. It was Fun, but the SRT-4 is Furious! 2.4L. DOHC. 16V. 215HP for starters. 17" wheels/Sports. NICE exhaust note and twin pipes.......
At $20k vs $80k, it is way more fun-factor than 20% of a Viper. No disappointments. A few "suggestions" maybe! The seats are awesome looking, if I was still at college-weight. Much better support and appeal than Viper seats, actually. SRT-4 says "Viper-Inspired" seats. But not great comfort for a 6'3" 230 lb driver. Big Guys Beware..........
After 100 break-in miles, we chose the SRT-4 for Pace Car duty at PIR Sunday. 7 races, 160 cars....... RAIN RACING. The SRT-4 was a great choice, and I know I can rip off faster wet laps in it than any Viper.
The bad news is that EVERY kid in a Honda / Toyota / Nissan / Subaru wants to play. Sheesh.
So, I've now been PVO-baptized by an SRT/4, SRT-Ram, SRT/10, and a CompCoupe. "Bless Me Father, For I Have Spinned........" Taken a spin, that is..... If you are thinking about a Rice Reduction Rocket, think SRT-4
