I am awaiting delivery of my 04 mamba but am trying to prep as much as I can.

I have been spoiled by a remote start (Viper brand of course!) in my last 7 cars.

I called around but cannot get a simple question answered..

Is there a "N"eutral light somewhere on the dash when the car is in neutral?

It would be great to tye a relay into that in addition to the brake light to prevent "In Gear" starts,,,, YIKES!

My fear is with the power of the viper it will start and run down the road even with the brake on!

no, there is no "neutral switch/light" in a Viper. You hit the nail on the head with your last comment. I would never install a remote start on anyones Viper for that reason. The combination of the torque a Viper makes on the bottom end and the torque a DC starter can make can easily drag your car in first gear, even if it has the parking brake on. Its just asking for a lawsuit or at best, damage to your car.

(just think...if you were someone living on welfare, and you saw someones unmanned Viper taking itself for a cruise through the parking lot, at a couple MPH...would you not jump in front and end up WITH his car?)

Whata about a switch plate, guaranteeing its in neutral, and needing the brake light to be on also?

I've seen that done on manual transmissions without ever failing..

Just a thought./././

That wouldn't be the only issue... The immobilizer would stop the engine from running as well. Unless of course you leave your car lying around unlocked.

If the brake light was lit that would mean your in the car, what the hell would you need the remote starter.
Speaking of needing the remote starter, why on the viper.
That car is the fastest warming car I have ever owned, especially if you still have the stock cross-over.
I love the remote starts myself but on my work trucks and my Lincoln.
I know this is not an answer to your question, i'm just making conversation....lol

ok, specifically the EMERGENCY brake light! LOL!

I plan on actually driving the car daily rather than just petting it with a diaper and with the black interior in SC, I'd like to give it a minute to cool down B4 I jump in it..
No biggie, just an "I wanna".

If you are so carefree why not just leave the top down?
