There was a thread on this about 3-4 months ago. Do a search, it should turn up. Most of us either are in a field that pays well, such as an IT position or own our own company which has turned profitable. You can pick up used Vipers in the 30's now. That's almost in the reach of most americans out of school with an average paying salary job.

I had to wait a fur piece before getting a Viper. Got interested in Mopars a long time ago, but raising a family and living from day to day was hard enough, never even considered a car like a Viper (Hemi Super Bee or Hemi Cuda was my dream machine back then). Now, the kids have their own families, I have a solid, good paying job, and a lot of equity in our home. With interest rates dropping like they have, I saw an opportunity to sell our T/A Challenger three years ago, and then start looking for a Viper. Found our '94 not too long afterwards, and jumped on it. Best automobile investment I ever made, the car is just AWESOME! If you can get a good job right out of college, then good for you, you will have a Viper much sooner than I ever did, and there isn't anything wrong with that!

I started a radio program 10 years ago, which was capitalized by an automotive service business that was started in 1971 with $4,000 borrowed from a friend. We're celebrating 30 years of success in the service business this year. The radio program made profit for the first time last year and my bonus was my new 2001 GTS. Work hard... set goals... follow your dreams... and you will be successful. Hope this helps. Bobby

I am a 23 year old visual effects artist in the film industry who just picked up a Viper last month. When I was still in grade school I made a promise to myself to buy a ferrari, lamborghini, or other such car before I turned 30. I would say that I am a bit ahead of schedule. I earned my money by working very hard (I have logged 135 hour weeks), striving to always do better than expected, and most of all I love my job. Don't get into a career that you hate just because you see the opportunity to make money. People who love their careers rise to the top because you can't help but to excel at something you are passionate about. Good luck!

Everyone has made great points, but I'll throw in my $.02. Don't decide what to do with your life so that you can "get stuff". Decide what to do with your life so that you'll enjoy what you do and love going to "work" every day. If you have that, the rest will either fall into place, or you won't mind one bit that it didn't.

Sounds sappy I know, but trust me, its worth it.
That, or just marry a rich girl - much easier that way- and if you do, let me know if she has a sister!

There is a very good book available that sums up a lot of this. Called "DO WHAT YOU LOVE AND THE MONEY WILL FOLLOW" Can be ordered by title at any common bookstore. Get it, it will change your life. If you can't find it, e-mail me. Also, follow Sheysters guidelines, if you start your own business. They are well thought out!
