A lot of people are changing there rear end gears over. My question is- What are you doing with the old gears. My rear end is showing some wear. I am not going to change the gear ratio. Keeping it stock. Wondering if there is a second hand rear end out there that is looking for a gen one power plant. Thanks

Just wondering, Why wouldn't you want to go with a different gear set up? I have a 94 RT/10 and I switched the gears to 3.55's several months ago. The gear swith makes the car a little snappier.

I have no plans to modify the Horse power (now I better crawl under a rock). I am satisfied with the power the way it is. The power and tork are nicely balanced. Shhhh (Its a 92-) Someday its going be worth a lot of money. But for now I am going to drive the s**t out of it. Hahahaha. Honest.

I suspect that there are MANY folks here w/ low-mile 3:07s that would literally give them away to a fellow member. Or trade for something.....like a baseball hat! Your dealer, Tator, may even have em laying around.

Failing that, PartsRack has some low-mile Viper takeouts, cheap. The problem is, they NEVER seem to match/mate up perfectly and stay quiet. We almost have to polish them to be sure they stay quiet.

Jon- Thanks for the info. Funny thing is on my last post I said I was happy to leave the gear ratio stock. But the more I look into this I am starting to think- my car already has the 3.55 in the car. The rear end is definately not stock. Parts code on the "Pumpkin" says 95. Plus there is the little grey box under the dash to re-calibrate the speedometer.

When I get a chance I will jack the car up and rotate the rear tire, try to figure out the ratio.

Either way the rear end is starting to make some noise, showing wear.

Chuck Tator and I are talking about changing the whole assembly. Because of the reason you mentioned above. Hard to change over, wear quickly unless you polish them.

The Mopar performance rear end works out to be less expsensive than the stock 3.07 rear end. So it looks like 3.55 is the way I would go on this.

Is this a warranty deal somehow? I DID find a nice 3.07 w/ little wear.........

If not, do youself a favor (and me!) and check out our prices on cryo-treated, pre-polished gearsets. Below the MoPar cost FOR SURE.....you already have the speedo kit. Rebuild kits cheaper, too.
