The metal mesh (speaker covers, what do you call thosee things?) on the hood and the drivers side one has lifted. It seems to be attached only at the end (windshield end).

From what I see there are two Flaps (anchors) that line with two Screw holes and there may have been plastic anchors on those flaps that go into the holes?

How do I re-attached the (what-cha-ma-call-it)?

The screws fell out. Open the hood and you'll see the holes the screws go into.

Four fasteners are used per grill, and if the rubber gasket (that goes around the edge of the grill next to the hood) is separating from the grill, it's a good idea to glue it to the grill. Weather strip glue is only one of the "glues" you can use. It doesn't require much. You will also have a very high probability of loosing several fasteners in your hood when reattatching the grills. A magnetic screwdriver should be used. Taping the screw to the screwdriver bit also helps. Good luck.

btw - if they are faded, a very light mist of black spray paint makes them look as good as new again.

So do I need to drop the hood liner to get at these screws? There are plastic tabs that hold the hood liner on, do I just pull them out or twist them or what??

If the screws fell out when the (What do you call them?), lifted, wouldn't the screws have fallen toward the front as the hood was up? How do you get them then?

you do not need to drop the hood liner. look under the hood, under the vent, and you will see small access holes. your phillips-head screwdriver goes into those access holes to remove whatever is left of the screws. take it very slow and you dont lose the screws. a magnetic screwdriver helps. but if you lose the screws in the hood cavity somewhere, i dont know of any way to get them out. if you can find one screw, take it to a hardware store, match it up, and replace all the ones that are missing.

replacing the screws - again, a magnetic screwdriver helps. however, i recommend taping the screw to the screwdriver. take a piece of black electrical tape, about 1/4" - 1/2" square, stick you screw through the sticky-side center of it, put the screw on the screwdriver, then fold the tape over the screwdriver. stick the screw through the access holes and assemble your vents. as you install each screw and pull the screwdriver out, your tape will be left behind. thats ok, and thats why i use black electrical tape - so the tape cant be seen.

If you do lose the srew in the hood, it falls to the bottom and can be retieved with a small magnet by attaching it ot any kind of thin, bendable wire and working it down an access hole nearest the bottom of the hood. I about choked when I lost the first one but this works every time.

Cut a piece of a thin walled tubing (brass, copper, whatever) about 1 inch shorter than the length of your screwdriver . Insert the screw driver through it and place the blade in the slot of the screw. Slide the tubing forward till it rest against the hood and unscrew the screw. Keep one hand on the tubing and one hand on the screwdriver (maintaining the pocket for screw to rest in)as you remove the screw/ screwdriver.

BTW-The tubing diameter needs only to be large enough to clearance the screw head, not large enough the drop the whole screwdriver through.
